Helium Health

Helium Health is a healthtech company that provides a full-service technology platform for healthcare stakeholders in emerging markets. Its core mission is to accelerate Africa's transition to a technology and data-driven healthcare sector. The company was founded in 2015 (or 2016) by three Nigerian entrepreneurs: Adegoke "Goke" Olubusi, Tito Ovia, and Dimeji Sofowora . Before focusing on healthcare, Olubusi and Sofowora, who met in school, had already sold a previous business. They teamed up with Ovia, who brought experience from global health initiatives. Driven by a sense of responsibility to improve their home continent's healthcare, the founders took a road trip across Nigeria, visiting hospitals to listen to doctors and hospital owners. They learned that for a digital solution to work in Africa, it needed to be affordable, usable offline, and easy to implement without extensive training. This direct feedback shaped the development of their platform.
